Web and app analytics
Google Analytics 4
Event-based analytics for websites and apps, in a standard edition and a paid Analytics 360 edition.
Google Analytics 4 measures websites and apps as events and can export raw event data to BigQuery. Standard properties are limited to 1 million events a day in the daily export, while Analytics 360 raises that limit and adds a fresher daily export. Consent mode lets tags adjust when visitors decline consent, and Google offers data processing terms for Analytics.
Where it shines
- Exports raw event data to BigQuery, including streaming export with no event limit.
- Documents consent mode and offers data processing terms.
Check before signing
- The daily BigQuery export of a standard property is capped at 1 million events, and is paused if the cap is consistently exceeded.
- Modelled data from consent mode appears in reports but not in the BigQuery export, so counts can differ.
