Guidelines
How the community works
IMC Institute is a community resource, run and moderated by a small editorial team. The directory is only as good as its facts, and the people who use these tools every day see changes first.
What you can contribute
- A new listing: a platform the directory is missing, or an agency, consultancy or freelancer (these are listed only this way).
- A claim: you represent a listing and want to keep its profile up to date.
- An edit: one attribute of a listing that is wrong, missing or out of date, with a source.
- Evidence: a pricing page, API reference, trust page or policy that settles a check marked "not assessed".
- An experience: what you achieved with a platform you have used. Experiences are moderated, shown beside the facts and never feed a score or a ranking.
How moderation works
- A person reads every contribution. Nothing is published automatically.
- A moderator checks it against its source. Without a source, a claim can prompt a check but cannot change a listing on its own.
- Accepted changes are applied and the listing's review date is updated. Notable ones get a line in the public corrections log.
- Rejected or duplicate contributions are closed; we may follow up if you left an email.
House rules
- Sources over opinions. Link to the vendor's own documentation, a filing or a reputable report.
- Say who you are. Vendors and agencies are welcome, and must say so. Undisclosed self-promotion is removed.
- No personal data about others, and nothing confidential you are not entitled to share.
- Be specific. Field, current value, correct value, source.
Reviews and points
Experiences are read by a moderator before they appear, are shown beside the facts, and never feed a score or a ranking. You may not share an experience of a product you work for, sell, compete with or are paid to promote.
Points are awarded when a moderator accepts a contribution or publishes an experience: a new listing 50, an edit or correction 20, evidence 15, an experience 10. Levels: contributor at 20, regular at 100, expert at 250, steward at 500. Points never influence a listing's ranking.
